All right so I'm starting 2009 off with a relatively quick drawing of my OC Nona Mae (usually known simply as Nona). I've updated him a little. You can find his updated profile in my scraps.

Quick little blurb here. The last few pieces I've posted on here have been digital stuff or some fanstuff and I haven't received much/any feedback on those. So, I get the feeling my watchers prefer my beastie graphite work. So. Here you go^.^! Back to what I'm good at.

This is the first time I think I've been truly happy with a drawing of Nona and haven't taken any short-cuts on anything (except maybe the feathers on his tail....). I'm especially fond of his face, I feel I've finally captured his face properly


Nona is MY creation, please do not use/copy him for anything! If you want to post his image anywhere for anything please ASK me first.

And, do me a favor, ok? If you're going to can you PLEASE tell me why? What do you LIKE about what I do so I know to do more? Or what DON'T you like? So I can improve upon it--if I choose to XD--? THANK YOU^^

EDIT: asked me how I came up with Nona so I ended up typing this longer-than-expected response. I decided I'd might as well post it here for you all to read
<sub>Well, he's basically a less-blended mix of a whole bunch of things I like XD. The original version leaned more towards the aliens from the alien movies (Alien, Aliens, Alien Res.........) especially in the tail and the protrusions from his back. Then I did away with the alien-ish tail, kept the blade concept though but covered the tail with feathers instead since I love shaggy bits His legs and wings reflect my looove for birds, raptors (osprey wings), owls (Barn owl legs) in particular. Then there's the longer, maneuverable neck. I'm also crazy about cervids (deer) and one aspect I like about them: their antlers. Granted, Nona's are technically 'horns' since they are not shed. I love the looping design of the caribou antlers, especially. Also, as is apparent much a lot of my creatures, I think.. I like BIG, expressive ears framing a young, naive/innocent/somber face.--Ok, one last thing to touch on, promise XD--I think the newest revision to his design is his exoskeleton. Originally he merely had black flesh, but now he's covered in an extremely maneuverable black exoskeleton. I kind of liked how it took even more from anything a 'human' could relate to. He's covered in armor, basically, but it almost seems to imprison him instead.

I am totally obsessed with the concept of a creature, ugly or scary in appearance, but with a heart, with fears and that only wants a friend. That's largely what Nona is based around, hence his eyes here.</sub>
