Oh and by the way, those parrot-monkey's from that old pirate (Pirates of Darkwater??) cartoon... I love those guys (or what I can remember of them) and I think it kinda shows, lol.

Basic form:

Head: vulture-like (Ruppell’s griffon) but with a longer beak; large hyena-like ears (size emphasized by the relatively smoothness of the rest of the head and upper neck); black but with yellow-banana ear spots; two antennae;. A small crested caracara-like crest (of very soft, very thick feathers; almost like overly-large down) dotted with long secretary-bird-like feathers; areas of bare skin.

Neck: long and curved like a vulture; covered in short fuzzy fur but with a large collar of long feathers and a shaggy hyena mane.

The shape is deceptively slinky like a caracal or serval, but is hidden by the amount of feathers which aid in hiding small forearms (they’re covered in short fur but end with delicate hands terminating in dainty but sturdy claws and can be easily concealed against/within the draping feathers of the breast). The hind legs are longer than the forearms and scaled with the triple-jointed shape leaning more towards a bird’s shape; they terminate in hardy almost kangaroo-type feet with two big toes and toe smaller ones. This design relates towards the stance and movements of rabbits and kangaroos.

The tail is long and scaled like a serpent; terminating in a tassel; prehensile; grows out from under a small tail of feathers (bird-like).

The shoulders and back are largely covered in long draping feathers. Flanks and undersides are covered in a moderate-length coat of soft fur, spotted like a hyena.

The wings are enormous like a vulture; great surface area with length and broadness—a dominate feature.

Pelt is predominately grey or dark brown. Plumage is mostly black with a few white patches on underside. The crest is white.

Abilities:

Powerful flier: soaring for long distances; pretty acrobatic both on land and in the air (higher altitudes or at decent speed; is heavy with big wings so at slow speeds can be slightly ungainly when compared to smaller winged beasts); swift on the wing but not the fastest though fairly quick on land (utilizes a strong kangaroo-like leaping sprint) and capable of great leaps.

Strong eyesight.

Decent hearing.
